The most likely pattern of incontinence is urinary frequency, urgency (a sudden compelling desire to pass urine which is difficult to defer) and urge incontinence (involuntary leakage) ( Marinkovic 2001). Problems experienced may range from urinary retention to complete incontinence. Other risk factors for urinary incontinence include older age, female sex, speech difficulties, motor weakness, visual field defects or cognitive impairment ( Barrett 2001). The more severe the stroke, the greater is the likelihood of urinary incontinence ( Burney 1996a). Addressing problems with continence whilst the person is still in hospital may prevent long‐term problems for the patient and family. On 22 October, Calli reached 500,000 YouTube subscribers, making her the 16th hololive member to reach this milestone, as well as the 2nd member of the English branch to do so. She performed the premiere of her first original rap song, "失礼しますが、RIP♡" or known in English as " Excuse My Rudeness, But Could You Please RIP?." The song was released on her YouTube channel the same day. She was the first member of hololive -Myth- to debut. DebutĬalli made her debut stream on 12 September 2020. A simultaneous announcement was made at the hololive Twitter account, and the hololive English Twitter account. On 8 September 2020, Mori Calliope was first revealed in a short promotional video alongside the other four members of hololive -Myth. Ĭalli's YouTube channel was created on 16 July, and her Twitter account was created in the same month. The members of -Myth- began training around June 2020, three months before their debut. After she was selected, it took some time for Calli to accept that she had been successful. She credits her success to her hard work and willingness to take chances on new opportunities. Ĭalli auditioned by describing her best traits and skills and taking a professional tone. Calli had previously spent several years making music with an audience of no more than twenty people. She began watching hololive videos in her work breaks to familiarize herself with the other members, and became excited at the possibility of joining them. Mori Calliope first heard of hololive after seeing clips on YouTube, and heard of the hololive English audition from friends. The initial round of auditions ran until 24 May. On 23 April 2020, following the success of the Japanese-language hololive VTuber group, Cover Corporation announced auditions for English-speaking members. She also works exceptionally hard, perhaps too much so. Kiara has mentioned that she frequently misplaces things despite leaving them in an obvious place, like leaving her cellphone in her jacket. When not on camera, however, she is described as air-headed and hopelessly forgetful. She is easily flustered by romance, leading some to call her the "tsundereaper." Although fluent in English, Calliope often fails to understand current modes of speech, such as the use of contractions or modern slang. Despite the challenges that she may face while working on these projects, each one is very much rewarded and appreciated by her fans each time a new original song or cover is released.Ĭalliope is equally excited by both rapping and "reaping." Her favorite weapons include her scythe (nicknamed "Ricky") and the flail, a medieval weapon made from a spiked metal ball on a chain.Ĭalliope is noted for having one of the most lowest pitched voices in hololive, even more so than likes of Nekomata Okayu, Tokoyami Towa and A-chan. Calli still remains above all an avid hard worker who is regularly working on projects behind the scenes, often not sleeping for long periods of time. However, Calli's playful side comes out more evidently during collaborations with her genmates, displaying a side of Calli which viewers don't regularly experience. This combination of a relaxed yet serious personality has earned her the admiration of not only her fans, but also the other hololive talents as well. However, she is not afraid to get serious about topics that may be on her mind, and engages in thoughtful discussions with viewers. Calli's cool attitude can be clearly observed in most of her streams, as she tries her best to impress her fans with her musical talent and occasional gaming skills. The Grim Reaper's apprentice has displayed throughout her streams, guest appearances, and music to a have cool, yet serious personality, with a timid side being seen when interacting with others for the first time, such as her senpais. In the end, she's a gentle-hearted girl whose sweet voice contradicts the morbid things she tends to say, as well as her hardcore vocals. It seems that the lost souls vaporized by the wholesome relationships of VTubers flow through her as well. Because the world's medical system advanced so dramatically, Calliope became a VTuber to collect souls. ![]() ![]() ![]() Growth may be slowing even further in the future. In 2011, Russia’s crude oil production grew by 0.6%. Russia oil and other liquids production based on EIA data. This is better than the world average of 3.0%, but still falls short of the expected growth between 20 of 10.2%, mentioned above, based on the 1983 to 2005 world growth pattern.įigure 3. Let’s look at the five largest countries individually.īetween 20, Russia’s oil production (including substitutes) grew by 7.5%. Of the top five oil producers, only the US and China have been growing very rapidly, and China’s growth now seems to be hitting limits. If the heavy oil imports were to go to another country with complex refineries (such as China), the processing gain would go with it. The US comes out ahead in this comparison because it imports a lot of heavy oil, and uses its complex refineries to crack it into shorter chains, such as diesel fuel and gasoline. The EIA assigns this growth back to the country doing the refining. This term refers to the extra volume that is gained when long hydrocarbons of heavy oil are”cracked” into shorter molecules. There is also growth in “processing gain”. This category also includes biodiesel, liquid fuels made from coal or from natural gas, and even a mixture of water with very heavy oil called “ Orinoco emulsion“. It is mostly ethanol, which has about 60% of the energy content of crude oil per barrel. On an energy content basis, they provide about 70% as much energy per barrel as crude oil. In the US, they sell for a little less than half as much as crude oil, based on the composition and costs shown in this post. Natural gas liquids are the largest category. While substitute liquids are OK, they are not really crude oil. On this basis, the US also appears to be closer to catching up to the top two. The top five producers when substitute liquids of various kinds are included are the same countries, but in a different order. The top five crude oil producers in 2011, based on the new data areġ. Figure 2, below, shows crude oil production separately from substitutes.įigure 2. The shortfall in growth especially occurred in crude oil. These high oil prices tend to interfere with economic growth of oil importing nations. This is no doubt one of the reasons why oil prices are as high they are now. This is far more than any country claims as spare capacity. The shortfall in oil production relative to what would have been expected based on the 1983-2005 growth pattern amounted to 4.7 million barrels in 2011. ![]() ![]() ![]() The first is the weevil borer whose larvae eat their way through the maize plant. Repeating a word or words from the first sentence in the second sentence. To some extent, these overlap with the four strategies proposed by Oshima & Hogue (2006) above in this subsection.ġ. Hamp Lyons & Heasley (2006) suggest seven ways in which writers can link sentences together to form texts. The link below will take you to a list of different transitional and linking words. There is a multitude of words and phrases like these, and they can be grouped in different classes based on the function they serve. However, even when this is done in a satisfactory manner, there is often a need to strengthen the organisational pattern of a text passage by inserting logical markers. The last but one point - transition signals (sometimes called linking words or linking adverbials) - has to do with the use of specific words and phrases that evoke links and transition between ideas.Īs was emphasised above, there is no substitute for ordering the various ideas and parts of a text in a logical way. Thirdly, contrast has to do with ordering ideas by contrasting or comparing them. Secondly, importance means that ideas are discussed in a sequence which implies either a increasing or decreasing order of importance. Chronology, firstly, has to do with time, and in terms of logic, events are ordered in a sequence. There are several different kinds of logical order, but some of the more frequently used are chronology, importance, and contrast. Starting with the last point, for the reason that it is a paramount aspect, any academic text will be incomprehensible unless the ideas expressed in it are arranged in some sort of logical fashion. Oshima & Hogue (2006) suggest the following four: A writer must maximise understanding of a text by making it as clear and logical as possible.Ĭoherence can be achieved in a number of ways. Another way to describe coherence is to say that it has to do with good and smooth text flow. The term comes from the Latin verb co-haerere, which means 'to stick together' (OED). In a coherent text, there are logical links between the words, sentences, and paragraphs of the text. We use coherence to cover both the extent to which a text hangs together, as it were, and the various linguistic and structural means of achieving this coherence. ![]() Coherence is sometimes called cohesion, even though some would claim that the two terms denote phenomena that are obviously related, but clearly different. ![]() ![]() “It’s a little disturbing when there are people who want the paving, and can pay, but don’t,” said Maria. But there were free riders too, and that did bother the volunteers. And then there were absentee owners who couldn’t be reached. In other cases, people really couldn’t afford anything. Who were the noncontributors? Some were opposed in principle to paving the road, because that would lead to more traffic and development. The small contributors impressed Mafia: “You knew they were doing their best.” After months of campaigning, the committee reached its goal of $50,000, the amount the gravel/chip seal coat will cost (the county will handle preparation of the road bed): Through extensive telephoning and mailings (they sent out over 1,000 pieces of mail), the committee persuaded some 120 property owners to contribute. From county records, Maria hunted up the names of 408 property owners affected by the road. Maria and Bill formed a committee to raise money on a voluntary basis to pay for paving this stretch. Its washboards were a safety hazard, and its dust polluted the air and nearby Lake Pend Oreille. The 5.2-mile stretch of road by their property was unpaved, and likely to remain so for many years. No, say the academics, the only way to accomplish public projects is to use government and its tax system to force everyone to contribute.įortunately, Maria Wentnet, Bill Bowman, and their neighbors on the Bottle Bay Road didn’t believe this theory. Therefore-the theory goes-everyone will be selfish and wait for others to give, and nothing will get done. ![]() The reason is “free riders”: in a voluntary system of donating to a worthy project, people can get the benefit of the project without having to pay for it.
